About the role

The Funding Specialist turns a submitted application into a clear, well-documented file that independent funding providers can review efficiently. You will examine incoming information for completeness, identify inconsistencies or missing items, and coordinate the next steps with clients, sales colleagues, and provider contacts. The work calls for accuracy, practical judgment, and calm communication when priorities shift.

Throughout the process, you will keep records current and help clients understand what documentation is needed and why. You will compare available responses from the provider network, relay approved terms accurately, and support an orderly path from approval through funding. This role is well suited to someone who can manage detailed work without losing sight of the client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze business funding applications for completeness and eligibility
  • Coordinate with third-party funding providers to obtain offers and approvals
  • Communicate clearly with clients throughout the funding process
  • Maintain accurate records in our internal systems

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of alternative business lending products is a plus

What success looks like

  • Prepare complete, organized application files that providers can evaluate without preventable back-and-forth
  • Track outstanding documents, approvals, and conditions so every stakeholder knows the current next step
  • Explain provider requests and approved terms clearly while avoiding assumptions about final availability
  • Escalate documentation, compliance, or timing concerns early and preserve an accurate activity history
